Maheshuru Sankalpa

About

I'm Maheshuru Sankalpa, from Sri Lanka. I started Solid3 at 18, and I run it with two friends. This is the longer version of the home page.

Thirteen to eighteen

I started trying to make money online when I was about thirteen. Over the next few years I tried crypto, dropshipping, Fiverr, Upwork, video editing and reselling. None of it worked, partly because I was too young to hold the platform accounts and bank accounts those things need.

That is five years of trying things that didn't pay, and I'm not going to dress it up. It's just what happened.

At 18 I stopped spreading myself across everything and picked one skill: web design and development.

Solid3

I started Solid3 with two close friends. Ruchira is co-founder and handles sales and finance. Dewja is co-founder and our senior developer. I run business strategy, client acquisition, sales, pricing and concepts, and I close the deals.

We build websites with strategy first. The aim is for a site to bring in real enquiries for the client, not only to look good. Looking good is the minimum.

The rest

I study IT, and I tutor. I co-organise Kanthale Run Club. I train seriously, and I'm more interested in endurance and strength than in how it looks.

The book

I wrote Your first $100 online because the advice available to Sri Lankans starting out is mostly one of two kinds: foreign advice that doesn't apply here, or local advice that isn't honest. I wanted to write something that was neither.

It comes out on 10 November 2026. Waitlist members get it for Rs 390 for the first 48 hours; after that it's Rs 490. The waitlist is on the book page, in English or Sinhala.
